films for charities is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to portray people from India in a positive light as they tackle issues in the American culture and to give the profits to charities that support our cause. We don't want to beat up on the Indian culture or the American culture. Our objective is to make movies for the American market, which appeals to the American moviegoer and represents Indians not as stereotypical taxi driver or computer geek. America is a melting pot of various cultures, few of which are represented on the big screen. Representing India is a brand new market that nobody is currently addressing. Recently, other markets are being represented such as the African-American and the Hispanic-American cultures but nothing for the Indo-American experience in the US. We feel it is time to address this market. If every culture is represented in the mainstream movie market, then this will complete the rainbow of colors that make up the American Society.
